Short Explanation and Tafsir of Verse 12 from Surah Aal-e-Imran
The Verse
> قُلْ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ وَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ
Translation:
“Say to those who disbelieve: You will soon be defeated and gathered towards Hell, and what a terrible resting place it is.”
Brief Tafsir and Explanation
This verse is a message from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to warn those who reject faith and oppose the truth that worldly power and dominance are temporary and will not last forever. If they persist in denial and hostility toward the truth, they will face defeat in this world and will ultimately be gathered for judgment in the Hereafter.
Scholars of tafsir explain that this verse was revealed as a source of encouragement for the believers and a warning to those who opposed Islam. It refers not only to the historical defeat of certain opponents of the Prophet but also conveys a broader principle: true power belongs to Allah, and those who knowingly stand against truth will eventually face loss and accountability.
Message of the Verse:
Earthly strength and temporary power cannot replace faith and justice. The ultimate outcome of rejecting truth and opposing righteousness is failure in this world and loss in the Hereafter.
