Statement No. 45 / Important Message to the People of Jordan: It Is Our Legal, Religious, and Legitimate Right to Target the U.S. Base Used to Launch Aggression Against Our Country

To the honorable and noble people of Jordan,

Your brothers in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in response to what they describe as the crimes of the U.S. military and its repeated acts of aggression against the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, carried out swift strikes on U.S. military bases, claiming to have destroyed a radar belonging to the U.S. THAAD missile defense system.

The statement further claims that a Patriot air defense system and a C-RAM radar were also targeted and destroyed, and that the fuel storage facilities at the U.S. base were set on fire.

It also states that a large helicopter equipment warehouse and a helicopter maintenance and repair hangar were destroyed by fire.

The statement continues:

"It is sometimes claimed that Iran, through its attacks, has violated the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of other countries. Such a judgment is entirely incorrect. From our perspective, the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of your country are fully respected."

It then argues that U.S. military bases in foreign countries operate outside the effective authority of the host nation, stating that Americans and others they authorize can enter and leave without local border control, that U.S. military police—not the host country's military police—maintain order, that American judges—not local judges—exercise jurisdiction over crimes committed there, that U.S. law rather than the host country's law applies, and that even the host country's Minister of Defense cannot enter the base without authorization from U.S. military authorities.

The statement concludes that it is the United States—not Iran—that has violated Jordan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, asserting that Iran is targeting land occupied by the U.S. military rather than Jordanian territory.

It further claims that, on the previous day, grieving families in Minab buried the recovered remains of their schoolchildren, whose bodies had allegedly been found beneath the rubble. The statement alleges that 168 students were killed on the first day of the war in what it describes as an attack by the U.S. military, and further claims that some of these attacks were launched from U.S. bases located in Jordan. It argues that, from its perspective, Iran has the legal, religious, and legitimate right to target those responsible for attacking its country and killing its children wherever they launch such attacks.

The statement concludes:
