According to Mehr News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on Sunday: "We emphasize the necessity of maintaining close cooperation with the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)."

The Russian Foreign Minister added: "We seek to find solutions that address the root causes of regional crises. We welcome the efforts of regional mediators working to prevent the region from sliding toward further escalation of tensions."

Regarding the situation in Yemen, Lavrov noted: "We have discussed this issue (during the Russia-GCC strategic dialogue in Manama, Bahrain), and together with our partners in the Gulf region, we are exploring solutions for this crisis."

He further remarked: "Trump’s plan for Gaza has remained merely on paper; there is no adherence to the principles set forth in this initiative. The principles of this plan have yet to be implemented."

According to Al Mayadeen, Lavrov stated: "Russia and the Gulf states advocate for a political and diplomatic resolution to the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Ansar Allah (Yemeni forces and fighters). The situation in the Middle East (West Asia) is on the brink of an all-out war; the root causes of the conflict surrounding the Strait of Hormuz must be addressed. The 'Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding' (between Iran and the US) contains all the necessary components to return the situation in the Strait of Hormuz to a diplomatic track." The Russian Foreign Minister added that the United States' approach toward Iran does not contribute to finding a solution or achieving stability in the region.

The Russian official further stated that, from Moscow's perspective, Zelensky has no desire to negotiate, as he has repeatedly obstructed the path to negotiations in the past. By encouraging Ukraine to attack Russian infrastructure, the Europeans are attempting to save the Zelensky regime.
