Iran, Model of Resistance against Arrogant Powers

Today is the second day of Dah-e Fajr or the Ten-Day-Dawn that marks the anniversary of the glorious triumph of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979. We present you a feature tilted Iran, Model of Resistance against Arrogant Powers. If not for the inspiring leadership of the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (God bless his soul), the Iranian people’s movement against the despotic regime of the Pahlavi Shah and his foreign backers would not have triumphed.

Imam Khomeini, as a true follower of the holy Qur’an, tread the path of the prophets of God to guide the revolution to victory and establish the Islamic Republic, which today after 36 years of steadfastness, continues to serve as a beacon of light for the oppressed throughout the world. Today, the Imam’s faithful disciple Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, is the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and is ably guiding the ship of Iran towards the shores of salvation. He is also a true servant of Prophet Mohammad (SAWA) and the Infallible Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt. As you know, God sent the Prophets to preach the word of unity and monotheism to mankind with emphasis on respect for human rights, observance of virtue, promotion of justice, and refraining from vices and all other forms of moral and social corruption. In ayah 25 of Surah Hadeed of the holy Qur'an says, God Almighty says:

"Certainly We sent Our Prophets with clear arguments, and sent down with them the Book and the balance that people may conduct themselves with equity"

As Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, pointed out in one of his recent statements, the Islamic Revolution is indeed a manifestation of the Prophet's path, since it molded not just the government but all other aspects of social life, including science and technology, according to the tenets of Islam and in the service of humanity. It actually gave new and unique meaning to political thought, and strove for social justice not just in Iran but also on the international scene. The message of the Islamic Revolution is thus respect for freedom, the independence of nations, and improvement of the intellectual capacities, in accordance with what the Almighty Creator has decreed. The concept of justice and equity which is the natural right of mankind was thus a novel idea on the international scene. As practically shown by the Prophet that all people are equal, Imam Khomeini preached universal brotherhood and at the same time refused to yield to pressures, bullying, threats, and even wars. When the infidels used to impose battles on the Muslims, the Prophet considered defence as the natural right of Muslims. Imam Khomeini by following the footsteps of his master, the Prophet, inspired the spirit of defence in the Iranian nation when the US through its proxy Saddam imposed the 8-year war on the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Imam Khomeini restored to the women of Iran their lost dignity by granting them the freedom of the Hijab. The Shah had violated this freedom, but the Imam practically demonstrated that the Hijab is not hindrance. Actually with proper Islamic covering in keeping with feminine dignity, Iranian women can freely participate in all spheres of social, political and scientific life. Ever since, the Muslim women of Iran have been a model for other honourable women throughout the world. In the field of politics also, the Late Imam Khomeini demonstrated that politics in not lies and deceit, as the West believes, but politics, based on morals, ethics, and human dignity, is part and parcel of Islam, as the Prophet had practically shown. At the same time the spirit of love, affection and positive interaction among officials, and between the people and the government is of vital importance, as emphasized by Islamic teachings. Thus the Islamic Revolution not only transformed the Iranian society but continues to act as the beacon of guidance for Muslims and the world's oppressed who naturally prefer governments based on the laws of God, rather than following the manmade secular laws which are against human nature and dignity. Imam Khomeini used to say: If faith in God and the practical implementation of the laws of God in social, political and economic affairs become possible, then the most complicated problems of the world will be easily resolved.
