Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has once again said that from the river to the sea, Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, and that includes all Muslims, Jews and Christians.

Addressing the Fifth International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada (Uprising), here in the Iranian capital Tehran, Ayatollah Khamenei rejected any idea as regards the so-called two-state solution to the Palestinian issue at the United Nations, and maintained that the only solution has to be a national strategy and referendum in which all Palestinians can vote for their future state, including all Palestinian refugees and expats.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the days of the Zionist regime and its financial backers are numbered and soon the Palestinian youth and the Muslim world will liberate Palestine “as promised by God in His Holy Book Qur’an.”

In his words, “Muslim nations have a duty to support the Palestinian cause and they are expected to cut their overt and covert ties with the occupying regime of Israel if they want to prove their true support for the Palestinians.”

According to the Leader, the Palestinian statehood bid at the United Nations will go nowhere, even if it succeeds in getting some kind of approval. Also even under such circumstances, the criminal regime of Israel will not end its racist occupation policies against the oppressed people of Palestine.

As maintained by the Leader, the real threat to the Zionist regime and its occupation policies is not Iranian missiles; rather the ongoing Islamic awakening that is sweeping across the Middle East and North Africa, and will soon strike at the core of the usurper regime of Israel.

Ayatollah Khamenei went on to state that those who are supporting the Zionist regime, especially the US president, are only after one thing: Zionist money and American votes. “President Barack Obama is desperate for the Zionist money and Zionist-run corporations, because without their much-needed support, he cannot win the second presidential race.”

The Leader, however, argued that the bid for statehood at the UN is a step forward for the oppressed people of Palestine but that’s just the beginning for the establishment of a real Palestinian state, because “the next step has to be the liberation of the entire Palestinian lands which are still under Israeli occupation.”

The Fifth International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada comes amid the fact that still, in direct violation of UN Resolution 242 and the United Nations Charter, Israel continues to occupy Palestinian lands.

Today, almost 5 million Palestinians are living as refugees, with no country or affiliation. And the West continues to destabilize the Middle East, to protect Israel, to exploit the region's natural resources, and to keep Islamic ideology under control.

Perhaps that explains why, Ayatollah Khamenei told the participants of the Palestine conference “to look at all the facts, and the facts show that the Arabs and Palestinians have been victims of Israeli terrorism, supported by the hegemonic powers. A peaceful solution must respect the rights of all Palestinians, especially Palestinian territorial rights and integrity.”

The International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada seeks to gather international support for the Palestinian cause and end the daily suffering, abuse, humiliation, terror and deprivation of basic human rights the Israelis inflict on the Palestinians.
