Lady Fatima Masuma (SA)

Introduction

Lady Fatima Masuma (SA) was one of the prominent members of the family of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). She was the daughter of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (AS) and the sister of Imam Reza (AS). Because of her spiritual and scholarly status, she has a special place among Shia Muslims. Her shrine in the city of Qom is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Shia Muslims.

Lady Fatima Masuma (SA) was born in Medina in 173 AH. After her brother, Imam Reza (AS), traveled to Khorasan, she set out to visit him. During her journey, she became ill in the city of Saveh and then traveled to Qom. After a period of illness, she passed away in Qom in 201 AH and was buried in the place that later became her holy shrine.

After her death, her tomb was gradually expanded, and different buildings were added to it over the centuries. Today, the shrine of Lady Fatima Masuma (SA) is not only an important religious site but also one of the most significant historical and cultural landmarks of Qom. Many pilgrims from different parts of Iran and other countries visit her shrine.
