The IRGC Navy stated that two oil tankers attempting to transit the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz caught fire following explosions and were forced to stop. According to the statement, rescue operations were underway to evacuate the crews. The IRGC also reiterated that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed for as long as U.S. military operations in the region continue and warned international shipping companies against following navigation guidance issued by the United States.
