Gerald R. Ford Burned for 30 Hours

After a bathroom crisis on the "big, beautiful" US carrier deployed to the region during the war with Iran, a fire in its laundry room has now made headlines.

The New York Times reported yesterday, citing unnamed military and military officials, that a fire in the laundry room of the aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford burned for more than 30 hours last week, leaving dozens of sailors with smoke inhalation.

The New York Times wrote that about 600 crew members lost their beds in the fire and are sleeping on tables or the floor of the ship, and many are unable to use the laundry and dry cleaning facilities.
