During Operation Nasr 2 and the 15-day battle of the Islamic Republic of Iran's armed forces from July 7 to 11, a US P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft stationed at one of the country's military bases in the region was destroyed; a strategic aircraft that is considered one of the most important intelligence-military systems of the US Navy.
