Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the enemies of Iran are trying to prevent the spread of the Islamic Republic’s successful pattern among other nations.

Addressing a massive gathering in Paveh in the western provincea of Kermanshah on Monday, the Leader said, “The main objective behind enemies’ divisive moves is to stop the spread of Iran’s successful pattern among other nations,” IRNA reported.

Noting that enemies of Islam continue to sow discord among Shiite and Sunni Muslims, he said, “Dividing Shiite and Sunni Muslims is a strategic policy of foreigners.”

Referring to ideological commonalities between Shiites and Sunnis, Ayatollah Khamenei said the enemies of Islam aim to obliterate those common points in order “to reach their vicious hegemonic goals”.

“Persistent and vigilant resistance against conspiracies of the enemies of Islam and the Islamic Ummah is the only way to defuse their plots,” he said.

National Unity

The Leader also stressed the need for maintaining Iranians’ national unity and solidarity.

“Protecting the Iranian-Islamic identity of the nation is of great importance,” he said.

“The world’s nations consider Iranians as a vigilant Muslim nation that is a frontrunner of progress in all fields. Iranians can play an effective role at the critical juncture of Islamic awakening by relying on their collective identity,” he said. He expressed hope that Iranians would “play a key role in forming a united Islamic Ummah”.
