Syrian troops inflict heavy losses on Takfiri terrorists

Syrian government forces, backed by fighters from allied popular defense groups, have carried out fresh operations against foreign-backed Takfiri terrorists across the country, delivering serious blows to them.

Army soldiers and their allies launched an operation in the central province of Homs on Wednesday, and established control over Ber al-Fawa’ara as well as a number of districts on the road linking the village of Tiyas to the ancient city of Palmyra, Syria’s official news agency SANA reported.

Troops also purged the outskirts of the Tiyas Military Airbase, also known as the T-4 Airbase, of Daesh Takfiri terrorists, killing and injuring scores of the extremists. Dozens of militants fled towards the heart of the Badiya desert.

The Syrian army also destroyed a number of terrorist hideouts, and inflicted heavy losses on Daesh, SANA added.

Additionally, government soldiers thwarted a Daesh attack on Dayr al-Zawr Airbase in northeastern Syria under the country's air force cover, killing a large number of terrorists in the process.

An informed source said Syrian jets bombarded a Daesh position near the Saker gas station in Salhiyet Hatleh area north of Dayr al-Zawr city, killing 15 terrorists.

Syrian aircraft also pounded Daesh bases in al-Tamwin roundabout and al-Kanamat area of the city as well as al-Tharda Mountain and the villages of al-Bghailiye, Maratt, and Khasham. Dozens of Daesh Takfiri terrorists were killed.
