Ayatollah Jannati reminded that throughout the nine-year occupation of Iraq, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis were killed and wounded and the US occupation forces inflicted numerous losses to the Iraqi nation; and these heinous crimes only led to strong condemnation of the occupation forces.

In further remarks, Tehran's interim Friday Prayer leader referred to recent detention of a US spy in Iran's soil and emphasized that Islamic Republic of Iran's security and intelligence forces dealt a heavy blow to the US spying agency, CIA, through the arrest of this US spy.

Also referring to the wave of Islamic awakening that has swept the region, Ayatollah Jannati pointed out that due to Islamic awakening the dictatorships in Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya were toppled, and other dictators in Bahrain and Yemen are on the verge of collapse.

Ayatollah Jannati denounced the crimes committed by Bahraini and Yemeni regimes and hoped that the revolutions in these countries would be victorious and popular ruling systems would be established in Yemen and Bahrain.

Tehran's interim Friday Prayer leader also referred to wide-scale presence of the Iranian nation in the scene two years ago on the 9th of the solar Iranian month of Dai (December 30, 2009) in a show of support for the sacred Islamic system, while adding that the Iranian nation on this day showed their vigilance and insight, and as long as the Iranian people are in the scene, no one can harm the sacred Islamic establishment.
