An Israeli newspaper reported that the speed of Iran’s military and missile recovery has shocked Israeli military and intelligence officials, even though the Israeli military had until recently claimed that it had set Iran’s capabilities back by years.
The Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post reported, citing informed sources, that Israeli military officials were shocked by the speed of Iran’s military recovery.
The report states that if Iran can return to producing 100 to 300 missiles per month, it could restore its missile arsenal to its June 2025 level by early to mid-2027.
According to the report, this shock includes Israeli military officials as well as the Mossad intelligence agency.
Despite critical reports in the Western media, Israeli military experts until recently believed that Israel’s attacks had set Iran’s military capabilities back by years.
However, four months after the end of the main Israeli-American war against Iran in April, “the Israeli military is now witnessing a rapid and stunning turnaround that it did not expect, not just in one or two specific areas, but in multiple areas, including the ballistic missile threat.” The Jerusalem Post reported that “Part of what is surprising about this story is that the Israeli military has been surprised twice before by the Iranians’ rapid recovery: in October 2024 and January 2025. After striking 20 critical ballistic missile and military-industrial targets in Iran in October 2024, the Israeli military claimed to have set back Iran’s future missile production by a year or more. ... After striking about 100 missile and military-industrial targets in June 2025, the Israeli military announced that it had finally found the real formula for setting back Iran’s missile production for several years. There was reason to believe this claim, as the number of targets hit was five times higher and the volume of bombs dropped by the Israeli army was much higher than before. However, Iran has once again found ways to resume high-speed missile production, and this has shocked the Israeli army again.”
According to the Jerusalem Post, senior Israeli military officials now acknowledge that Iran has found creative ways to focus on rebuilding missile capabilities and other specific threats.
The publication concludes that if Iran can return to producing 100 to 300 missiles per month, then it could restore its missile arsenal to June 2025 levels by early to mid-2027 and could become a serious deterrent threat in 2028.
