The UN-Arab League special envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi has expressed hope for the resolution of the Syrian crisis in 2013.

Speaking at a press conference in Cairo on Sunday, Brahimi said that the situation in Syria becomes more complicated day by day and there is still the possibility for terminating the violence in the country.

He added that he has a plan for the termination of violence in Syria that can be supported by the international community.

He reiterated that he has held talks with Russian and Syrian officials concerning the plan.

Prior to this, Brahimi had traveled to Russia in order to find a solution to the crisis by holding talks with Russian officials. He also held talks with Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad before traveling to Moscow.
