Leader's fatwa on atomic weapons explicated

The leader of the Islamic Revolution's fatwa on banning any efforts to access atomic weapons was explicated at the conference of ethical measures and global challenges of 21st century in Manhattan, New York.

 

According to IRIB, the confab that was held at the center of international affairs of the Mormon Church in New York with a number of experts, and scientific, cultural and political figures in attendance, broached on the issue of global peace and stability in the light of religious, philosophical and moral teachings.

 

A group of the university professors from the US, China, South Korea, Iraq and Tajikistan delivered speeches during the session and presented their views on the main world challenges in the 21st century.

 

Mohsen Eslami from Allameh Tabatabaei University and Ali Asghar Khandan from Imam Ja'afar Sadeq University were the Iranian professors who spoke about peace and stability in view of the political jurisprudence in Islam.

 

Mohsen Eslami, who is also the Iranian cultural attaché in the United Nations, touched upon the issue of weapons of mass destruction on the basis of Ayatollah Khamenei's fatwa on prohibition of gaining access to and usage of such weapons.

 

Elucidating the leader's fatwa, the Iranian official stressed that a fatwa enjoys a very lofty status in Islam and Shia sect and nobody can disobey it.
