The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces announced that an armed Saudi reconnaissance drone was targeted and shot down over Hajjah province.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, announced on Sunday the downing of an armed Saudi reconnaissance drone in the airspace of Hajjah province.

Saree stated that the drone—a Turkish-made "Karayel" model belonging to Riyadh—was brought down by appropriate weaponry while conducting hostile operations over Hajjah province.

Hajjah province, located in northwestern Yemen, features a coastline and shares a border with Saudi Arabia.

The Karayel is a Turkish-made tactical drone originally designed for reconnaissance, surveillance, and monitoring; however, later versions were equipped with combat capabilities and the ability to carry weapons.

Key missions for this drone include continuous surveillance and aerial reconnaissance, target identification and designation, precision strikes against ground targets using guided munitions, and countering other drones.

In recent years, Yemeni Armed Forces have repeatedly announced the downing of Saudi Karayel drones over various provinces, including Hajjah, Saada, and Al-Jawf.

The Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson announced last night that the total number of aggressions by the Al-Saud regime since the recent escalation of tensions has reached 1,059 air and missile strikes.

Yahya Saree also stated that Saudi aggressor fighter jets had carried out 27 air strikes across several Yemeni provinces over the past 24 hours.
