Sheikh Zakzaky Warmly Welcomed in Iran

People from different walks of life attended the Imam Khomeini International Airport to welcome Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria.

Following the announcement of the visit of Nigerian Shia leader Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky to Iran, this morning people from different walks of life came to Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran to warmly welcome the Nigerian Shia leader.

According to this report, a delegation from the Islamic seminary, represented by Ayatollah Arafi, head of Iran’s Seminary, has arrived to welcome the leader of Nigerian Shia at the Imam Khomeini (RA) airport.

Sheikh Zakzaky, who founded the Zaria-headquartered Islamic Movement in Nigeria that focuses on non-violent resistance to local and foreign arrogant powers, says Imam Khomeini’s thought inspired him.

He has founded more than 300 schools in Nigeria and other African nations and has also established charities for the health and educational support of African Muslims.

The Nigerian cleric and his wife have faced persecution from Nigerian authorities for years, with both suffering from multiple life-threatening ailments and prevented from traveling abroad for treatment.

In 2015, he was injured and arrested along with his wife during an attack by the Nigerian army, which resulted in the death of three of his sons and hundreds of his followers. At least 350 people were killed in what’s now called the Zaria massacre.

Zakzaky and his wife were acquitted of all charges laid against them in 2021.

Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky has arrived in Iran as part of his second foreign visit after the termination of his home arrest by the regime in Abuja.

Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife, Malama Zeenah Ibrahim, arrived at Imam Khomeini International Airport in the capital Tehran on Wednesday and were warmly received by the Iranian people as well as their supporters and followers upon arrival.

The participants, in their hundreds, held placards and waved Iranian national flags as well as portraits of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and late anti-terror commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in support of the prominent Nigerian Muslim cleric.

“I am very happy that such a crowd supports the resistance today, and I have nothing to say but to thank you dear ones,” Sheikh Zakzaky said in an address at the airport.

Pointing to the divine promise of the victory of truth over falsehood, he said, “We are all under a great test, and it is hoped that the Islamic Revolution will bring about change in the whole world, including in the US and Europe, to set the ground for the emergence of the last Shia Imam, Imam Mahdi (PBUH).”

Sheikh Zakzaky, the founder of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, is scheduled to attend an official ceremony held in the University of Tehran on Saturday in recognition of his self-effacing character and distinguished sacrifices in promoting Islam in the African continent.

In December 2015, Nigerian army troops attacked Sheikh Zakzaky’s residence and a place of worship belonging to the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, killing over three hundred and forty of his supporters in Zaria, Kaduna state.

Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife have lost their six sons, three of whom were killed during the Zaria Massacre.

He had remained under state detention in the Nigerian capital pending his release, which was ordered in late 2016. In 2019, a court in Kaduna state granted him and his wife bail to seek treatment abroad but they returned from India after three days due to unfair treatment and tough restrictions by security operatives deployed to the medical facility.

Last year, the Kaduna state higher court exonerated him from any charges and ordered his immediate release after 2,055 days of illegal detention.

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria will mark the eighth anniversary of the Zaria Massacre this year. Remembering the massacre has become an annual event where members pray for those who were killed and injured by the security forces.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution made the remarks on October 10, 2023 as he attended the joint graduation ceremony for the cadets studying in the academies of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Armed Forces.

Pointing to the "irreparable defeat" of the Zionist regime in the epic that was created by the Palestinian youth, he underlined that, “The cause of this destructive storm was the continuous brutality and ferocity of the fake usurper regime against the Palestinian nation. This regime cannot conceal its monstrous and devious face in the attack on Gaza and the massacre of Gazans through the act of lying or by playing the victim. By speaking nonsense, it cannot attribute the bravery of the Palestinian youth and their intelligent plans to non-Palestinians.”

Referring to the recent unprecedented events in Palestine and acknowledging the failure of the Zionist regime in this matter, Imam Khamenei emphasized that, “From the military and intelligence aspects, this defeat is irreparable. It is a devastating earthquake. It is unlikely that the usurping regime will be able to use the help of the West to repair the deep impacts that this incident has left on its ruling structures.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution underlined that after Saturday, October 7, 2023, which marked the day of the bravery of the Palestinian youth, the Zionist regime will no longer be the regime that it used to be. “This great calamity was brought on by the actions of the Zionists themselves; Because when you exceed the limits of ferocity and brutality, you should anticipate a ‘storm’,” he added.

Imam Khamenei enumerated the brave and selfless acts of the Palestinian Mujahideen (resistance fighters) as a response to the escalating crimes that the occupiers committed for many years. “The current government ruling the usurping regime is to blame for this, for it did not hesitate to take any sort of brutal measures against the oppressed Palestinian nation.”

Referring to the wickedness of the occupying regime, Imam Khamenei said no Muslim nation in modern history has faced such a shameless and cruel enemy and has not been under such pressure, siege, and shortages.

This is while the US and the UK have not supported any cruel government as much as the illegitimate Zionist regime, he said.

The Leader further said that killing Palestinian men, women, children, and elderly, desecrating the al-Aqsa Mosque, beating worshipers, and letting loose armed settlers to attack the Palestinian people are among the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime.

“Did the zealous Palestinian nation, with its thousands-year-old history, have any other choice but to create a ‘storm’?” he asked.

Ayatollah Khamenei also pointed to the wicked regime’s attempts to pose as innocent with the help of the Global Arrogance’s media, saying such attempts are based on sheer lies and distortions and “no one can turn this demonic monster into an innocent face.”

The reason the Zionist regime pretends to be innocent is to justify its crimes in the ongoing onslaught and crimes against Gaza and its innocent people, he maintained.

“The calculation of the illegitimate regime and its supporters in this regard is also wrong. The rulers and decision-makers of the Zionist regime and their supporters should know that these actions will bring a greater disaster upon them, and the Palestinian people, with a firmer determination, will slap their hideous faces harder in response to these crimes.”

In another important point, Imam Khamenei referred to rumors spread by the elements of the Zionist regime and its supporters about the involvement of non-Palestinians, including Iran, in the recent events in Palestine, emphasizing that those who make such claims do not fully know the great nation of Palestine.

“Of course, we praise the minds and efforts of the Palestinian youth and the resourceful and intelligent Palestinian designers and are proud of them,” he said.

However, he went on, such nonsense is a miscalculation, and those who say the recent operation was masterminded by non-Palestinians, “have not known the great nation of Palestine and have underestimated it.”

He underlined the necessity of a reaction from the Islamic world against the crimes of the Zionist regime, asserting the entire Islamic world is obligated to support the Palestinian nation.

The great event, according to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, was the work of the intelligent designers and dedicated youth of Palestine, and God willing, this will be a great step toward the salvation of Palestine.

At the beginning of his speech, Imam Khamenei, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, described the armed forces as the steel fortress of security, honor and national identity.

He said any country that lacks the power to defend its national security will be inevitably dependent on foreigners and its national dignity will be taken hostage by them.

He referred to the eight-year war of aggression waged by Saddam Hussein against Iran in the 1980s as a world war, saying, “In that difficult test, the armed forces defended every inch of the country and the sovereignty of the holy and dear Islam, and thwarted the collective conspiracy of the arrogant of the East and the West in defending the aggressor Saddam [Hussein].”

In another part of his speech, Imam Khamenei called the fight against the Daesh terrorist group the latest test for the Iranian armed forces until today.

“The US created the Daesh in a wicked plot to disrupt the stability of the region. The ultimate goal of this conspiracy was Islamic Iran, but the armed forces of the Islamic Republic, along with the armed forces of several other countries, thwarted that sedition as well,” he added.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief this morning at the joint graduation ceremony of the students of the Armed Forces officer universities called these forces the fortress of security, honor, and national identity, and pointing to the "irreparable" failure of the Zionist regime in the recent saga of the Palestinian youth, emphasized They said: The cause of this devastating storm was the continuous brutality, crime, and rapacity of the fake usurper regime against the Palestinian people, and this regime cannot hide its monstrous and hideous face in the attack on Gaza and the massacre of its people by lying and oppressing. By slandering, the bravery of the Palestinian youth and their clever design will be put in charge of the non-Palestinians.

Referring to the recent unprecedented events in Palestine, Ayatollah Khamenei called the position of the country's officials on this important political-military matter correct and good, and pointing to the world's acknowledgment of the failure of the Zionist regime in this matter, he emphasized: The military and intelligence aspects are an irreparable failure and a devastating earthquake that it is unlikely that the usurping regime will be able to repair the deep blows of this incident to its governance structures with all the help of the Westerners.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasized that the Zionist regime is no longer the previous Zionist regime after Saturday October 2023, the day of the bravery of the Palestinian youth, and added: The cause of this great calamity is the actions of the Zionists themselves; Because when you exceed the limit of predatory and brutality, you have to wait for the "storm".

Palestine

Palestine is a Muslim country, in the west of the Asian continent and in the east of the Mediterranean, which is bounded from the east by Jordan, from the west by the Mediterranean Sea, from the north and northeast by Syria and Lebanon, and from the south by the Egyptian Peninsula (Sinai) and the Gulf of Aqaba.

Palestine is the cradle of monotheistic religions in history and the meeting place of civilizations. In addition to its religious status, which is the cradle of prophets and celestial religions, Palestine is of special importance due to its location in the Middle East. There are holy places and places in Palestine, which can be mentioned Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Sakhra Mosque. Its capital is Jerusalem. This country was inhabited by Muslims, Christians and Jews, and the first inhabitants were Canaanites. With the arrival of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), worship of God entered there. During the time of the second caliph and the Muslim conquests, Islam entered Palestine. Palestine was ceded to the British in 1917 and was occupied by Israel in 1948 and continues to this day. During these years, there have been many wars between Israel and Palestinian movements. Various political movements have emerged in Palestine, such as Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Fatah Movement, etc.

 Occupation of Palestine

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Zionists proposed the solution of forming a Jewish state. They were able to get the attention of the British Foreign Minister. Finally, in November 1917, an announcement about the approval of the plan to establish a "Jewish National Center" in Palestine was published in the British Cabinet, and America also supported this plan. Finally, in April 1920, the Allies and the League of Nations officially handed over the custody of Palestine to England. When England handed over the government to a Jew, the immigration of Jews to Palestine began. This caused the uprising of the Arabs.

Since the 1940s, the Palestinian issue has become an Arab issue and has been at the top of international issues. During World War II, Palestine was relatively calm. After many wars and arguments, the Palestinian issue was referred to the United Nations, and finally, with the efforts of the Zionists and the United States, the General Assembly was convened and voting began in the evening of November 29. Contrary to everyone's expectations, thirty-two people voted in favor of the partition of Palestine, thirteen people voted against the partition, one person was absent and ten people voted blank.

After declaring the existence of the occupying regime, the first war that this regime launched against Palestine and the Arab countries of the region is known as the 1948 war. During this war, the Zionists occupied 78% of Palestine and the first phase of the great displacement of Palestinians took place. In 1949, Israel became a member of the United Nations. In 1964, the Palestine Liberation Organization announced its existence and the Palestinian struggle took a new form.

The 1967 war was started by the Zionist regime while the Arab countries had already prepared themselves for it. The military forces of the Arab countries were moving towards the borders of Israel and thought victory was imminent, when they were faced with a surprise attack by the tanks of the Zionist regime. This war, which started from the ground and the air, lasted for six days and became known as the Arab-Israeli six-day war. During this war, in addition to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank of the Jordan River, Israel occupied the Golan Heights in Syria and the Sinai Desert in Egypt and annexed Jerusalem to its territory. In a resolution, the United Nations called Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories, but Israel declared the condition of its withdrawal from the occupied territories to be the recognition of this regime by the Arabs.

In October 1973, Egypt and Syria attacked Israel with the slogan "Allah Akbar" and achieved success at the beginning, but the support of America and the West made the outcome of the war change in favor of Israel, and it was able to occupy a limited area, and finally, this war concluded The peace treaty ended. In 1974, the United Nations recognized the Palestine Liberation Organization. The result of this war was to bring the leaders of the Arab countries to the process of peace and reconciliation. As in 1978 at Camp David, Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister signed a peace treaty and Egypt recognized the existence of Israel in exchange for taking back the Sinai desert. This incident happened on the eve of the victory of the Iranian Islamic Revolution. Israel has been occupying Palestinian lands for years  so far.

October 2023 conflict between Gaza and Israel

It began on October 7, 2023 following the rocket barrage and large-scale ground attack by Hamas on Israeli settlements around the Gaza Strip during an operation that Hamas calls Al-Aqsa Storm. In these attacks, hundreds of Israelis were killed and more than a thousand were injured, and a significant number were captured by Hamas. This prompted the Israeli government to declare a state of emergency. Palestinians were able to avenge the blood of innocent Palestinian martyrs after many years. Israel did not think that Palestine could attack Israel, but this shield was finally broken.
