Leader of the Islamic Revolution warns of trickery in Iran nuclear talks

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has emphasized that the Americans always seem to adopt a harder line, and a tougher negotiating position, as deadlines for nuclear talks approach, in order to attain their own objectives, but everyone needs to be aware of this deceitful US tactic (US trick).

According to IRIB World Service, speaking on Thursday morning at a meeting with the Head of Iran’s Assembly of Experts and members of this Assembly, the Leader commented on the on-going nuclear negotiations between (Iran and the West) , emphasizing that Iran’s nuclear negotiating team is a good, experienced, diligent and trustworthy team , which has worked well and continues to make every effort, but despite this, they need to exercise care, since the other side is crafty, deceitful , uses trickery, and has been known to “stab from behind”.

In further remarks, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei referred to a common misconception that powerful nations don’t need to resort to trickery or deceit. The Leader pointedly added: “Some people think that a powerful America, with its political economic and military might, has no need to resort to deceit or underhand tactics, but this is totally wrong, the Americans do use unfair and underhand tactics, and they do resort to deceit and trickery, as they are doing today, and this is a worrying reality”.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader referred to a recent letter, sent to Iran, by a number of Republican Senators, emphasizing that the letter clearly shows the rejection of widely-accepted political norms in the United States. The Leader added: “Everywhere in the world, according to established international laws and norms, every in-coming government accepts the obligations and agreements made by its predecessors, but the letter by US Senators clearly states that if the Obama administration changes, the next administration will consider the agreements made by the Obama administration as “null and void”, and will not honour them”.

Turning to Netanyahu’s speech at the US congress and comments made in recent days by US officials, the Leader said: “A Zionist clown made a speech over there (on Capitol Hill ), and a number of US officials made various comments, but in these same comments they accused Iran of supporting terrorism , which is a ludicrous claim”.

Commenting further the Leader said: “The Americans and their allies have created, nurtured and supported the most ruthless, vile, and poisonous of all terrorist groups, namely the Islamic States of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), and other terrorist groups like it, and they continue to support and arm these terrorist groups, but then they have the gall to accuse the Islamic Republic of Iran of backing terrorism”.

In further remarks, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei referred to America’s open support for the fake usurper Zionist regime of Israel. The Leader said: “Washington brazenly and shamelessly supports the Zionist regime, which has admitted carrying out terrorist attacks and is well-known for its sponsorship of terrorism, and yet the Americans keep on accusing Iran (of supporting terrorism)”.
