Leader: Terror attacks can’t harm Iran’s resolve

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has penned a letter condoling with the survivors of the recent terror attacks, saying that such crimes cannot work to harm the Iranian nation’s determination.

According to Press TV, at least 17 people were martyred and more than 50 others injured in Tehran on Wednesday, when gunmen attacked Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) and the Mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini (God bless his soul).

The Daesh Takfiri terrorist group claimed responsibility for the near-simultaneous assaults.

The Leader asserted that the acts of terror “are too trivial to break the determination of the Iranian nation,” adding, “The Iranian nation will, God willing, march onwards with determination.”

Such acts of terror will merely result in more hatred towards the US government and its agents in the region, such as Saudi Arabia, the letter added.

The attacks are “a clear sign of the vengeance and spiteful enmity of the [global] arrogance’s mercenaries towards the honorable people of Iran as well as anything which has to do with the [1979 Islamic] Revolution, Islamic establishment, and late Leader [Imam Khomeini] (God bless his soul),” the letter added.

Such crimes signal “the evil nature, and at the same time, the lowliness of their overseers, and also those ordering and perpetrating them,” the Leader noted.

In similar comments following the Tehran attacks, the Leader said on Wednesday that such assaults will fail to undermine the Iranian nation’s resolve in the face of threats.

Ayatollah Khamenei said had Iran not stood against the hotspot of terrorism in the region, the country would have faced more severe problems.
